1) Could be H Pylori, too much acidic food, cal/mag deficiency, and a bunch of other things. You should try a tsp apple cider vinegar diluted in a cup of water. paradoxically helps acid reflux by closing the esophageal sphincters. I'd be making sure to get 10mg/lb elemental mag daily using magnesium chloride powder in water in addition to some supplements like glycinate, glycerophosphate and acetyltaurate. I'd do a 2-3 day fast just to let everything clear out, break fast on bland, whole foods, throw in some kefir and fermented foods. Oral BPC and KPV should provide immediate relief as well. Circadian lifestyle and light environment will also be very critical, cannot fade. I would think that doing all that while being outside for the sunrise, mid day, and sunset for 2 weeks is more than enough to resolve the issues. Just need a big push to get out of that negative feedback loop you're caught in.

2) Are they good? They're useful in some cases, but they don't heal or repair anything and have side effects. Redlight/IR therapy, peptides, circadian lifestyle, light environment optimization, nutrition, and grounding will do a lot more to actually solve the root cause

3) yes they do. your cells emit UV light from cold shock and we all know the benefits of UV and POMC, nitric oxide, etc. The only time it's bad is when you're exposed to too much cold for too long of a time. How much you can handle largely depends on your cold adapatation.
