What do you think about using cagrilinitide to reduce rebound hunger in someone coming off their GLP?

BowTied Biohacker's avatar

Haven't tried it yet, but have seen success using a tirzep taper after using reta (probably what you're referring to) and timing with a reverse diet

Prevent? Be good to your brain and body

How beneficial is actually hcg for fertility during TRT (150mg/week) if it only increase LH? I guess some ITT plays role in spermatogenesis but is that sufficient enough to conceive in most cases

Expand full comment
BowTied Biohacker's avatar

It doesn't increase LH, it mimicks LH

Yeah, it's enough to conceive in most cases for sure

Lower dose HCG is for neurosteroids and to prevent testicular atrophy. For fertility people typically go higher

How is that if FSH is still suppressed? What am I missing? something to do with intra testicular testosterone production because of hcg?

For your dht maxx protocol… do you recommend cycling the supplement stack? Or is it safe to take daily?

Expand full comment
BowTied Biohacker's avatar

I don't think anything in that stack inherently needs to be cycled

Would something like astragalus be smart to make sure kidneys are good while I run this?

Astragalus is good for kidneys yes. The stack isn't bad for kidneys. But astragalus is good lol

I went from spending 1 max 2 hours outside to 10ish (basically moved my office outdoors) and started wearing blue blockers in the gym plus phone always filtered.

As it's mostly in the shadow so I only get more light exposure not more direct sunshine.

I've been like this for over 2 weeks and haven't noticed any benefits. Why do you think that might be?

I think my gut issues I developed the last 3-4 months might be related.

Also I usually don't feel much difference on supplements, might be something due to subpair health.

BowTied Biohacker's avatar

Lol what??? What do you do for work and how did you "basically" move your office outdoors? Your questions are always a challenge to comprehend :)

I work onlinef from home. so I'm just open air with my laptop and monitor just outside the house. Lots of lights also good for my eyes to look into the distance more often. You recommended it a while ago actually

What protocol would you recommend for a night shift worker? I’ve never worked overnight shifts in my life and over the course of the next month I’ll be working 6pm-6am quite a bit, and I really don’t want to feel like shit for a month straight.

In reference to your tweet about mitoburn and caloriburn - are these supposed to be taken everyday during a cut or just on select few days. Would these down regulate anything if taken for a long time?

Expand full comment
BowTied Biohacker's avatar

Yeah, they downregulate fat storage and inflammation hahahaha

I know what you're asking

No, they don't "shut down" any critical processes

Amazing sounds good!, felt a bit more hungry with mitoburn imo

Hi UM - how would you reduce high IGF-1? Currently clocking in at 237 ng/mL. 200 lb male, consuming 200 grams of protein a day, 614 test, 18 free test, eat red meat 1-2x a week, resistance training 2x a week (previously 4x) and 150 min of cardio per week (mostly Z2 but with some Z3/HIIT).

BowTied Biohacker's avatar

1) That's pretty decent but not that high

2) Why would you want to lower it?

Late 30s. Proud to be defying aging. Last time I had test checked, was <500 2 years ago.

Are electrolytes okay to take during fast? I like to do a 36-48 hr fast either monthly or quarterly. I feel like death mostly and cannot be a productive human, but I took electrolytes last time from “Liquid IV” and “BodyArmour” and felt so much better. They do have calories tho so idk if it makes it all worthless?

Expand full comment
ostentatious's avatar

So depends what your goal of fasting is. If it's spiritual, then no. If it's health-wise, it depends. Technically you're breaking your fast when you drink a LiquidIV. It has sugar and other stuff that probably offset some of the benefits you're seeking, although it's not clear.

Instead, I recommend taking salt in your water (zero-calorie), adding a little bit of freshly squeezed lemon (potassium, negligible calories), and a magnesium supplement. All of these won't break your fast and they're the 3 primary electrolytes you want to target while fasting and working out simultaneously.

Just got back from St. Thomas with a sick tan, live in the NE what’s the best way to retain this tan over the next couple months? Limitless not sell Melanotan 1 anymore? Wanted to run it before the trip but whatever. Thanks boss

Expand full comment
BowTied Biohacker's avatar

They definitely still sell it. Idk? Sounds like you decided to do some Melanotan and hit the tanning beds. That'll do the trick. Also why we like having a krypton! Definitely not losing any tan when you hit each side for 10 minutes

I'm considering buying BPC-157 for minor injuries I get from jiu-jitsu. Your Substack post on BPC-157 from 2023 suggests 500-650 mcg twice per day to achieve full effects (gut healing, brain healing, etc.). Based on your experience, what's an adequate dose if solely focusing on soft tissue maintenance / minor injuries? Still the same? Thanks

Expand full comment
BowTied Biohacker's avatar

That is the dose. Unless you want to bump it up to 4x per day for more healing. It becomes economical to use injectable at that point, though.

I always have a terrible headache the rest of the day and the following day.

What can I do to prevent these headaches?

Expand full comment
BowTied Biohacker's avatar

You probably need to make sure you've consumed around 3-4g sodium, 5-6g potassium, 3.5L fluids, b vitamins, vit c, 1000mg+ magnesium, and some outdoor cardio (get blood flowing, produce nitric oxide) the day of. You basically wanna make sure you've been taking perfect care of your body before and after.
