Could you possibly elaborate on details of what you mean here in this phrase " offering potential interventions for autoimmune conditions"?

I have a common and not terrible autoimmune disorder and have seen another substack mention that a possible side effect of Selank could be "Concerns with certain autoimmune disorders". I also found a lone comment on some Nootropic reddit space where someone seemed to state definitively that Selank and Semax would trigguer autoimmune disorders.

I can't be certain but in a very brief period it seems like Selank may be triggering mine sadly. Of not that may not be of any use is that Kratom seems to be a trigger for mine too.

EDIT:

I found some things saying it upregulates IL-6 which would be the potential trigger. Well, hopefully Bromante is nice and not problematic unless there's anything you could suggest?

How does it compare to Phenibut, in effects and biochemically?

I don't think it makes much sense to compare a necessary nutrient to a drug LOL but I'll try

Phenibut activates GABA b receptors, magnesium blocks calcium channels at NMDA receptors

Phenibut will get you high, magnesium won't

Your body needs magnesium daily, your body does not need phenibut

Magnesium makes you naturally calm, phenibut is a calming DRUG with druglike effects that forces your brain to chill out

Idk I feel weird writing all that, please don't make me compare nutrients to drugs again hahaha

Stay swell n swole

I asked about Phenibut vs Selank, not magnesium. There’s few studies and wanted your opinion as I’m not an expert in understanding these

Thanks! :)

LOL sorry, I got this comment right after I posted the magnesium guide.

You'd be surprised how many people ask that question.

So selank is a GABA a positive allosteric modulator, meaning it makes GABA A receptors more sensitive to your own GABA. Phenibut is a GABA b agonist, meaning it acts like GABA and directly binds to the GABA b receptors. GABA B activation has downstream dopaminergic effects and can have more a "stimulating".

Selank also increases endorphins by inhibiting the enzyme that degrades them, so that adds to selanks unique effect.

Overall selank feels more natural, clear headed and calm while phenibut is more of a euphoric "I'm on drugs" and sedative feeling. Any other questions I can answer? Happy to help!
